Green Therma is a young company based in Copenhagen with a subsidiary, Green Therma GmbH, in Hamburg. We have developed a patented deep-geothermal closed-loop process and are planning, structuring, and implementing geothermal projects for cities, neighborhoods, and industrial applications in collaboration with partners. Our goal is to create scalable solutions for a long-term climate-neutral heat supply.
To further expand our project portfolio, we are looking for an experienced business development professional who will identify new projects in the DACH region, establish partnerships, and significantly advance the development of our geothermal business.

The role
You will identify new project opportunities in the renewable heat market and develop them into viable geothermal projects – from the initial idea to the investment decision.

Key responsibilities

  • Identification and development of new geothermal project opportunities
  • Establishment of strategic partnerships with local authorities, municipal utilities, industrial partners, and investors
  • Structure complex energy infrastructure projects in cooperation with stakeholders (e.g., utilities, industrials, and/or infrastructure investors)
  • Evaluate geothermal projects from a technical and economic perspective
  • Develop scalable business and marketing models for renewable heat
  • Manage projects with stakeholders (internal and external) through development phases (feasibility, structuring, financing) to project realization
  • Analyze regulatory frameworks such as permits and licenses, funding instruments, and market mechanisms
  • Facilitate and provide support for project financing, joint ventures, and long-term heat supply contracts
  • Close collaboration with external stakeholders and internal teams from geology, engineering, commercial development, and finance

Your profile

We are looking for a personality with entrepreneurial thinking, a strategic vision, and the ability to drive complex projects forward.
Ideally, you will have:

  • A degree in engineering, industrial engineering, energy technology, geosciences, or economics
  • Several years of experience in business development, project development, and/or project management of infrastructure projects
  • Experience in the energy sector, renewable energies, district heating, or geothermal energy is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of project financing, business models, and market mechanisms
  • Experience in dealing with public stakeholders, utilities, or investors
  • Ability to strategically structure projects and drive them forward operationally
  • Business fluent German and good English skills

We offer

  • A central role in building a growing geothermal portfolio
  • Direct influence on projects that are changing the heat supply of entire regions

Do you want to be part of pioneering the heat transition and geothermal industry?
Approximately 50% of global energy consumption is used to generate heat, and roughly 60% of that is still produced with fossil fuels, making heat the hidden giant of emissions.

At Green Therma, we are on a mission to change that with renewable, local, secure, and affordable heat from geothermal energy. We are pioneering the industry with our geothermal Heat4Ever™ solution and proprietary DualVac™ technology that eliminates risks and barriers of traditional geothermal methods and enable scale.

We are building a team of senior and young professionals with decades of experience across banking, oil and gas, utilities, infrastructure, management consulting, and related fields. As a small organization, we work with short decision paths and close collaboration across the company. This creates an environment where responsibility is high, learning is steep, and contributions quickly become visible.

About the position
We are looking for a top student to support Green Therma’s senior management team. The position is closely linked to strategy and decision-making. You will support top management with analytical work, research, and preparation of management material and presentations. You will work closely with very senior profiles, CxOs, and former management consultants. Through your work, you will gain insight into how strategic decisions are made and executed in a young company.

This is not a traditional administrative student role; it is a position with significant responsibilities and a steep learning curve.

Tasks and responsibilities
Your tasks will include supporting management in their daily work and may cover:

  • Preparation of management- and presentation material
  • Research and analysis related to strategy, markets, competitors, and partnerships
  • Support of strategic workstreams across the organization
  • Structuring and communicating complex information clearly
  • Ad-hoc analytical tasks in close collaboration with senior management

The role’s content will be adapted to your background and development over time.

Qualifications
We expect that you:

  • Are currently enrolled in a relevant academic program (e.g., business, economics, engineering, strategy, public policy, or similar)
  • Have strong analytical skills and an interest in complex problem-solving
  • Are fluent in English and communicate clearly and precisely – especially in writing
  • Are able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Are curious, motivated, and eager to learn

You should expect PowerPoint and Excel to be your primary and preferred toolbox.

Previous experience from consulting, strategy, finance, startups, or analytical student roles is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We offer
You will gain close exposure to top management and senior decision-makers, as well as insight into strategy, leadership, and execution, in a growing company. The role offers a steep learning curve, real responsibility, and flexible working hours to accommodate your studies. We offer a competitive student salary, lunch arrangement, and an informal yet highly professional working environment.

Location and Application Process
The main workplace for this position is our office located in Copenhagen, Østerbro. The successful candidate will report to Thomas Møgelberg, Head of Strategic Projects and Corporate Development.

To apply for this role, please submit your application and cover letter to Marie Haargaard Urup at careers@greentherma.com no later than 30 April 2026. We will evaluate applications and conduct interviews continuously.
