Our projects

At Green Therma we are committed to making geothermal heat accessible to businesses, towns, governments, and communities across the globe using our Heat4Ever™ solution.

Our journey began in 2023, and in a short time, we have made significant progress, from developing our solution and technology through to piloting key projects.

Here is information about our projects, each representing important milestones in our mission to provide more sustainable geothermal heat.

Heat4Ever™ demonstration project

Supplying renewable geothermal heat for residents of Aalborg for generations

Denmark

We are developing our first full-scale geothermal demonstration plant in Northern Jutland, Denmark. This project involves drilling a geothermal well with approximately 4 kilometers vertical section and a 3 kilometers horizontal section to supply renewable heat to residents of Aalborg for the long term. For the project we have signed a 30-year heat-off take agreement with Aalborg Forsyning, one of Denmark’s largest utility companies. This project will serve as the first-of-its-kind geothermal Heat4Ever™ installation and will be an important reference for the future of geothermal heat.

As this is our inaugural project and full-scale demonstration, Green Therma will be responsible for the construction, ownership, and operation of the plant. This approach differs from future projects where we aspire to be the preferred technology provider to the geothermal industry with our Heat4Ever™ solution, while working in integrated projects with world leading service companies with capabilities to manage hundreds of projects like these all over the world.

Heat4Ever™ test project

First-of-its-kind continuous vacuum insulation over 3.8 km

Germany

Scheduled for 2025, the DualVac™ completion assembly insulation performance and principles of our Heat4Ever™ solution will undergo further evaluation under various operating conditions at the Groß Schönebeck geothermal site in Germany, operated by GFZ Potsdam (Deutsche GeoForschungsZentrum) where geothermal heat is accessed from depths exceeding three kilometers. The test will validate our technology’s capability to efficiently transport geothermal heat from significant depths to the surface with minimal energy loss. The demonstration project will advance our geothermal Heat4Ever™ solution for larger-scale applications and commercial adoption.

DualVac™ proof of concept

Demonstrating our continuous vacuum

Norway

A test to demonstrate the operational functionality of the DualVac™ technology was successfully conducted in 2024 at the Ullrigg test facility at NORCE in Stavanger, Norway. The test was a part of the HOCLOOP project, supported by the Horizon Europe research program. The results confirm the viability of the DualVac™ technology for broader geothermal applications and and global roll out.
